We'll try not to overburden you guys with too many guidelines. Promise!
The Basics
1. Be nice to your fellow RPers! Treat them how you would want to be treated!
2. If there is a problem, contact one of the staff members and they will help with it.
3. Write to the best of your abilities! It's alright to have off-days, and RP should be fun, not a chore, but still try to put some decent effort into what you write!
4. Understand and utilize at least a basic knowledge of proper spelling and grammar. No abbreviations in RP posts, such as u, r, b, 2, etc. Spellcheck if you have to! And remember that Dictionary.com is your friend!
5. No godmoding/powerplaying. This means, do not make it so your character is all-powerful and immune to injury or illness, and do not take control over another person's character. Everyone has their weaknesses, and it is typically common courtesy to your fellow players to keep things fair.
6. Do not injure or kill another person's character off without first gaining the Rper's consent to do so!
7. There are all manner of preferences when it comes to the sorts of character pairings each sort of person likes, whether it's heterosexual, homosexual, etc. Please try to respect the interests of other people, no matter what, even if you do not happen to agree with it.
8. The most important rule: HAVE FUN!
Creating and Applying Characters
1. Pandora's Box is an Original Character RP. Characters that have been taken from a series, or were at least not made by you in any capacity, will not be accepted.
2. Applying as a character is very simple... After you have made and activated your ProBoards account (You do not need to make individual ones for each character), simple fill out a profile with your character's information, and submit it to 'Pending Applications'. It will be reviewed for quality by at least one staff member, before being accepted and put into the 'Accepted Applications' list.
3. We are quite open-ended when it comes to the sorts of races you may apply for... The only ones we have specifically confirmed to be existing so far are vampires, werewolves, and witches and warlocks. Everything else is subjective speculation. If you want to apply as a mermaid, by all means, go ahead! All races will be considered. However, their profiles will still be looked over by a staff member to ensure they are written well and not in violation of any rules.
Posting RP Entries
1. It is advisable, for clarification's sake, that when you post a new thread, please include some basic information on the content either in the title or at the top of the post. Information such as this can include an RP title (If desired), a rating (from G to NC-17), whether it's for specific characters or an open thread, and, if applicable, warnings about the content of the post (Gore, violence, sex, etc).
2. If RP takes place off the forum (such as on a messenger), you may edit and post the logs into a thread entry in the appropriate board. You mus still label them as described above.
3. Please only post threads in the appropriate locations where they take place. If the characters switch locations, make a note in the thread that they have moved, before starting a new thread in the new location. You may provide links from one thread to another to tie the story plots together.
